Upgrading IDEA Blade to Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread

     You might read about upgrades before but there was problems with Camera drivers with other Roms but upgrading with this Rom with Swedish Kernal includes camera drivers also so Camera will also work Flawlessly..
Lets start,first of all we need to collect all the stuff we needed. Just download all the things listed below on your PC :

Z4root: Link (after downloading your antivirus might detect it as Virus
                     this is an exploit Exploit:Unix/Lotoor)
Rom Manager: Link 
Rom (Moldovan-Mile-High-Mountain-Pie-RLS9.zip): Link
Kernal 1(M-MHMP-RLS9-Undervolt-Kernel-Gen2.zip) :Link
Kernal 2(M-MHMP-RLS9-Swedish-Stock-Kernal-Gen2.zip) : Link

          After downloading everything , first check if your memory Card had atleast 500MB of free space or not,then mount your memory card on PC by connecting through USB.Copy everything on SDCard's root.

1.  install Z4root and Rom manager using Filer.Once you install Z4root open application and Click on Permanent Root it will take a while to root your Blade,then it will automatically Reboots, after reboot to just check if your Blade is Rooted or not, search for SuperUser App in your App drawer which will automatically get installed after Rooting Process.if it is there then now your Phone is rooted and ready for Flashing.

2. Before we actually starts Flashing,we have to take Backup of our Stock Rom for Fail-Safe situation, So now go to App drawer and Open Rom manager and select first option Flash ClockworkMod Recovery
(you need working net or wifi connection to download latest ClockworkMod) , it will pop-up drop-down list to choose your device,select you device.it will starts download , after download complete,ClockworkMod will be get installed automatically.

3. Finally select Backup Current Rom option it will Reboot your phone into ClockworkMod and Backup will automatically Start.after done with this, phone reboots and starts normally,

4. Now you are completely ready for Flashing as you have Backup of your existing Rom for fail-Safe Situation,Now Turn Off your phone.and Start it by Holding Power on and Volume down key at the same time,hold as it is for few seconds.. you will enter ClockworkMod after few seconds..
now Navigate through options using Volume Rocker keys and Home key to select.
5. now select wipe data/factory reset then Advance -> wipe dalvik cache ,after this completes select 
Install from SD card > Moldovan-Mile-High-Mountain-Pie-RLS9.zip and install nextInstall from SD card > M-MHMP-RLS9-Undervolt-Kernel-Gen2.zip  and install thenInstall from SD card >   M-MHMP-RLS9-Swedish-Stock-Kernal-Gen2.zip  and install
after installation Completes Simply select Reboot... And Enjoy new Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread ! :)
Note : It takes several minutes in first Reboot so be patient..

I have already done this and it works like Charm ,and it is Faster than Stock Rom !

    Can you please share a link to the Idea default ROM. I accidentally deleted my backup on my SD card, and am unable to revert back to the stock rom.

      i have idea blade currently running with joyos.i already tried stock rom form the link u mention but gives me error in green color at the time of installing i also try those step after installing cm7.2 but it didn't work.pls help.....

    hi everyone i used many roms with idea blade..
    stock android 2.2 is waste
    plain cm7 is ok(applying themes will lag UI)
    Swedish-Snow-RLS6(android 2.3) is working superb
    cynomiui(MIUI based cm7) is bit laggy but eye catchy interface(i recommand this rom if u want cool look)
    cm7 android2.3 by kang is working good
    Moldovan-Mile-High-Mountain-Pie-RLS9 is also good
    plain icecream sandwich 4.0 is working fine but many bugs
    ICS MIUI is good but leaves 0 ram so it cannot be used,but interface is beautifull.........
    ICS coldfusion is working good and even faster but again same problem with ram..it leaves 0 ram

    main problem with our idea blade is ram..we got only 166mb and in which 30-70 is free. so if any one could unlock ram we can just play with our device

    Hey...
    Finally got a confirmation about the RAM.
    It is 512mb RAM, which can be unlocked uxing TPT method.
    There was a lot of confusion among various websites. So, I directly contacted ZTE India (18001031900), and they assured me that the device has 512mb harware , which can be unlocked by using TPT. If u have doubt on my words then do check it out urself.

    Guys i feel Idea blade is a Chinese version of blades with default 256 MB of RAM. Only specific european versions had 512 RAM..else both do have 512MB ROM... i guess there is no way to unlock the RAM. The user manual of idea blade and dell xcd35 clearly state the difference in terms of specifications(256 and 512 respectively).

    guys no need to lose hope.
    Idea is not the manufacturer.
    I hav mentioned zte customer support's number.
    Ask them. They are the manufacturers, and they clearly tell that the hardware supplied to Idea cellular had a 512mb ram. Idea did some mistake in loading the software part, which locked the ram.

    MadameH you have to first install Clockworkmod in your blade,then boot your Blade into Clockworkmod,then follow instructions as above..read that stuff carefully !

    hey guys recently i bought an idea blade ,and i rooted it using z4root and installed rom manager and the clockwork recovery was up to date and then i switched off the mobile and pressed the volume down and power button ,but it is not going into the recovery mode and gets stuck up at the green logo ....all i want is to update to ssrl5 please help me in this situation ..i googled a lot of sites but unable to find the solution i have gen2 chinese version which has 256 mb.......thx in advance

    hey naveen,
    as there is Error while using camera im sure that you have not installed M-MHMP-RLS9-Swedish-Stock-Kernal-Gen2.zip or else not correctly, this swedish stock kernal contains drivers for camera so it is must to install this package to make your camera work
    Flash Rom again carefully by reading instructions..

      Yea it takes a time..
      it depends on how much data you have in cell,not a SDcard data. data that you installed +contacts,messages
      still it hardly take 30-45 minutes max.

    i downloaded all the above files and i copied it to my SD card.. and i installed z4root and rom manager.. now i have doubt, i have to unzip those files to install or directly install from that zip files...

      ColdfusionX is heavy Rom.as IDEA Blade got only 256mb of Ram it leaves only 5-10Mb of Ram which is very less and UI also laggs like hell.and causing lot of FCs :/

    pls tell me i have installed cm9 on idea blade everything is fine but the problem is my phone takes a very long time approx 15 to 20 min on cyanogenmod 9 animation and then it starts and also some reduced in speed in operating mobile…cm7.2 works fine everything except blutooth problem. Is that problem regarding ram because after installing gapps that animation never ends pls help me because i am totally confused what should i do..

      The Problem is RAM !
      ideally speaking IDEA Blade is only upgradable to GB only :/
      We have optional Roms for ICS and JB but due to lesser ram our Blade is not eligible to run those Roms :(
      Still there are Roms which are very lighter version of ICS and JB which can be run with SWAP Partitioning ..

      Well,Z4root is the tool which grant you Root access and it has option for UNROOT also !
      So if you want to get back to stock then u have to again install ur stock IDEA BLADE FROYO Rom and unroot ur device !
      now you can take it to the customer care..

      And about Root can Harm ur device ? Ans is YES,
      cause ultimately ur accessing core of ur Device OS which Non-user area,if u do anything Wrong in there,thr r chances of damaging ur device,but if you follow instruction properly and did proper study before applying to device then there are almost no chances of Harm ! :)

    hi....
    i can't reboot my idea blade after flashing a custom rom....
    though it does go to clockwork recovery mode by holding power and volume down button....
    but it is stuck on green andriod whenever i turn it on.....

    hey when i select backup current rom it restatrs as u say & enterded into a mode.in this it is written 'adroid system recovery<3e>
    android system recovery utility (& giving me options )
    reboot now
    apply:update.zip
    wipe data/factory
    reset wipe cache partition'
    what should i supposed to do now? plzz tell me quickly..

    I tried to root and backup my ROM today using the method. After pressing 'backup my current ROM' through ROM manager, my phone is not booting and stuck and green screen.

    I tried 'power + vol down' or other options, but none worked. Its not even opening anything just the green screen.

    Please help me if there is some way to save my phone. Any help is appreciated.
